Zinc Measurement Technology
The Galvanizing line is a final molten metal process where Heraeus Electro-Nite has a solution to continue adding value to the Steelmaker through to the Galvanized steel coil.
AlZin continuously monitors the effective aluminium content and pot temperature in zinc coating baths. Using an electrochemical cell built into a rigid immersion probe, aluminium concentrations over a range from 0 -1.000% may be measured with an accuracy matching ICP analysis. A typical service life of an AlZin sensor is 2 weeks. An iron calculation program is available using AlZinlog-E software.

Benefits:
- Quality: Continuous control of effective aluminium in zinc keeps a constant metallurgical coating process and minimizes dross formation. It enables improved process management and drift analysis
- Cost: Dross reduction leads to less build-up on rolls and thus enables less frequent roll changes
- Laboratory aspect: Aluminum activity and the temperature in zinc are directly obtained from the sensor.
