Oxygen Activity Control

According to recent research, oxygen activity is a major factor in the formation of graphite shape and matrix structure of iron castings. The Celox Foundry disposable immersion sensor measures accurately within 10 seconds both, temperature and oxygen activity in liquid iron using a high-precision thermocouple and a special oxygen cell for ultra-low oxygen activity levels. The Celox Foundry sensor enables a rapid condition check of Mg-treated cast iron grades and their ability to form compact graphite and ductile irons. The short measuring time of the sensor is an important advantage for production control of these castings. Celox Foundry is applied in the pouring ladle enabling corrective means prior to casting.
